I'm gonna get downvoted to oblivion, but the reality is that a lot of shitty criminals who can't buy a real illegal handgun use an airsoft one because it looks so similar. There has to be some mechanism to discourage shit criminals from doing shit criminal things.
It's actually not the judge that is the problem. Correctional facilities are staffed with absolute lazy slobs and there is zero rehabilitation. It's literally like the movie Blow. Go in for something ridiculous like stealing groceries, come out with connections to buy handguns and get fronted kilos of Cocaine. It's a private criminal network inside while the guards watch YouTube and play on their phone
It most definitely is. Anyone of us is scared to go to jail because we'd get the book thrown at us. Meanwhile criminals get a pass. It's a serious issue.
Just so we're clear, your take is that people are scared to be criminals because the punishment is severe, but also the people who are not scared to be criminals are treated too lightly and should face more severe punishments.
Many criminals are always steps ahead of laws. Theyll just get somebody else to buy it for them like they do with straw buyers in the US for their actual firearms. And/or these will be passed around secondhand
Harsher penalties for repeat offenders would be where I would like to start. Third offense of theft, loose a digit. 4th offense loose 2 and keep increasing.
this is the shit that just makes crime worse dude, im not saying be all set him free but fuck me you genuinely think mutilating people for committing crimes regardless of reason is acceptable in society?
The ex convicts i used to work with would always say this: "dont do the crime if u cant do the time". Its easy to read the fact for Canada is that the penalties criminals face aren't strick enough in this country. Im personally a fan of creating VERY remote Labor camps.
as much as i wanna criticize “dont do the crime if you cant do the time” i feel like we wont really have a productive conversation if were so far apart as we seem to be so i think maybe agree to disagree on this one
Im just echoing what they said. Not a motto I'd obviously live by. But its certainly something they appearently did as they all served varying degrees of time.
Mad facts, worked the gun counter ar Cabelas for a year. Saw way more sketchy characters looking to do dangerous and/or illegal stuff with the BB Guns, knives, machetes, axes etc. Than real firearms.
Pretty sure this one's a case of survival of the fittest... I'd love to see footage of someone upping BB on a real criminal. Some problems solve themselves 😂😂
Why r we trying to prevent criminals from obtaining these ? They are literally one of the most harmless tools they could choose to use. What would you rather take to the chest ? A shot from a real gun? A 4 inch knife blade ? Or a conical pellet from a 500fps pellet gun ? These airguns are a bluff that at worst will take your eyesight or maybe severely damage your throat. Knives, bludgening devices and real guns will take your life.
A pretty convincing bluff that 99% of people will not challenge. Like I said, I don't know what the solution is, but as a responsible legal gun owner I understand that there will be inconveniences for the greater good.
But the fact remains thats its not generally lethal. Nobody's actually going to loose their life to these encounters unlike when a real weapon is used. Criminals resorting to using airsoft to commit crimes is an improvement to public safety.
I aint missing anything, our Law Enforcement is when they continously pursue the route of banning these devices while appearently being blind to the fact that its sucess will just force the criminals to once again pick up REAL weapons that ultimately leads to innocent life being lost.
