Feets / Collection / My build 12” tm22

Still waiting on a FDE stock and a vortex defender to replace the shitty red dot

Happy I pulled the trigger on this, guns extremely compact as it should have been when it first came out.

I’ve owned 3 so far and this one is by far my favourite

Imagine ammo from Costco

48

u/julienjj May 11 '26

Kirkland ammo 😂

36

u/Status_Ticket5044 May 11 '26

$0.07 per round, as good as the name brands or President's Choice... but you have to buy a case of 20,000.

13

u/jwubadubdub May 11 '26

I'll take 2 please

4

u/julienjj May 11 '26

2 ??? How many case fit in the trunk !

2

u/androstaxys May 12 '26 edited May 12 '26

I think they meant two 4x4x8 pallets. We’ll need the address of your closest train station sir.

edit: wonder how much this would be at $0.07 per round.

Google says average .22lr box is 5.5 cubic inches, my pallet above is 221,184 cubic inches. So 40,215 boxes (x2: 80,430). Google says each 5.5 cubic inch box can hold 600 cartridges (seems high?). 48,258,000 .22lr rounds.

At $0.07 each, that’ll be $3,378,060. I’ll ship em for free once payment releases. :)

u/Foreign_Active_7991 May 11 '26

I mean, taxes-in that would only be $1568 and then you're good on .22 for a few years, sounds good to me.

1

u/JJJJJ2119 May 12 '26

Few years? 😂

7

u/GabRB26DETT May 11 '26

Kirkland ammo

That would unironically be a great product I'm sure

3

u/julienjj May 11 '26

Probably. Like made by CCi or something like that.

2

u/ivanlarav May 11 '26

Good cashback.

28

u/UnderstandingSoft165 May 11 '26

Day 263 of asking why these haven’t breached the .22WMR realm yet

11

u/moonpie_888 May 11 '26

Right! That would be legit good power semi auto qnd that's probably why even though you can get the CZ510 I think in 22mag semi auto

13

u/Q-Ball7 In the end, it's taxes all the way down May 11 '26

The problem with .22WMR is that it doesn't kill paper or steel (or small game) any harder, while at the same time costs more than 9mm does. You get about 50 yards more effective range (.22WMR has dropped at 150 yards as much as .22LR has at 100) as compared to the +100 of .17 HMR (or the +150 of .17 WSM) for roughly the same price (or 1.4x the price, in .17WSM's case), and generally speaking if you need to shoot a rimfire that far semi-auto operation may not be helpful.

You can't use it in IPSC mini-rifle or at NRL22 matches either; as for use in any other kind of competition, see above.

This is why the usual pattern is "sure, we'll make a run of these off of our existing design and also do a .17 HMR", and then it takes way longer because simple blowback in this family of calibers is oddly tricky. And then they don't sell, and then the manufacturer throws in the towel.

It was less trouble for Derya to spool up production for 9mm rifles than it would be to redesign the TM22. Can't say I blame them.

4

u/Status_Ticket5044 May 12 '26

Now THAT'S an explanation. 👍 I'm hoping if the OICs get tossed we get a flood of 9 mm. semi-autos.

3

u/Reasonable_Hall2346 May 12 '26

The OIC are the floodgates. If it gets reversed by some magical SCC decision then we all gonna be bankrupt.

1

u/Status_Ticket5044 May 13 '26

That would be a good problem to have.

1

u/syspak May 13 '26

Please give me .17wsm semi auto in Canada.

Something modern.

u/Q-Ball7 In the end, it's taxes all the way down May 13 '26 edited May 13 '26

Your only real option is the A17, and you're stuck with traditional ergonomics and 8-round magazines.

Not that it's any better in the US; there are a couple of ARs in the caliber that cost 2.5x what the Savage does, but that's it.

I think .17 WSM is underrated, and it's as close as one can reasonably get to the rimfire cartridge used in the Interdynamics MKR of the 1980s. Its only real problem is that 5.56 is cheaper than it (as opposed to the other rimfire .22/.17s, where 5.56 is merely competitive in price).

1

u/syspak May 13 '26

The Franklin F17 I would love to have in Canada.

It's a rimfire please let me have it in Canada.

1

u/Q-Ball7 In the end, it's taxes all the way down May 13 '26

It is unfortunate that neither Franklin nor Jard's iteration are available outside of complete upper receivers.

The Franklin in particular has more in common with the MP7 than it does with an AR-15 anyway.

1

u/syspak May 13 '26

It's available as a complete rifle from Franklin.

Either 20"/16" barrel length.

But because of the way it looks I'm assuming in Canada it will be prohib

2

u/mischling2543 May 11 '26

I think they're afraid of attracting the banhammer

1

u/Q-Ball7 In the end, it's taxes all the way down May 11 '26

why Derya doesn't do a complete redesign (needs completely new magazines and an entirely new receiver with a heavier bolt) of their rifle in a meme caliber that only 3 people will actually buy

yeah I have no idea why they don't do it either

11

u/JaxIsLoud May 11 '26

"We have SBR at home."

The SBR at home.

18

u/macmuaythai May 11 '26

Oh man this might have just sold me on one of these

8

u/thatregal May 11 '26

Do it!! This is my cope for missing out on a short barrel Fx-9

4

u/Gonky69 May 11 '26

And this is better cause its NR if ykyk

7

u/scottsuplol May 11 '26

The little mag gets me every time 🤣

3

u/dsac May 12 '26

they look like they were hit with a shrink ray

1

u/scottsuplol May 12 '26

It’s cold out actually

2

u/dsac May 12 '26

I WAS IN THE POOL

1

u/BJ9293 May 12 '26

Canada is a joke

6

u/JaxIsLoud May 11 '26

Can we buy just the short barrels? Anyone?

11

u/blueline731 May 11 '26

Alright, guess I’m buying another TM22

3

u/thatregal May 11 '26

Worth it! I’ve had the 18” alum, 18” feather and now this one which is also aluminum, hoping it fires as good as my first aluminum one because I ran thousands of rounds no issue, but my feather was an absolute jammer

1

u/Fabulous_Pack_4336 24d ago

i will receive mine next week how does it feel and shoot ?

3

u/Bull-RunTheJewels May 11 '26

Does it need the same buffer tube fix as the others or did they finally fix that?

1

u/Fabulous_Pack_4336 24d ago

they fixed it

The Adler generally works well (YMMV) but any TM-22 is a step up. I have both.

2

u/Glockinmytacklebox May 12 '26

Can we see the dog tho?

2

u/jjyss May 12 '26

this is so close to convincing me but i cant get over how silly they make the tm22 mag look with the incredibly bent shape. the shorter ones like here definitely look better

1

u/eldiabIo May 11 '26

This will be my first rifle, what scopes do you recommend? Also what are you planning on upgrading? Im very new to this just got my PAL sorry if its noob questions.

4

u/DblockDavid May 11 '26

you dont need a crazy good optic for these, its a 22 lol i have a sig sauer romeo5x i got for $100 used on it

1

u/2016YamR6 May 11 '26

Get the vortex triumph

1

u/TheBulletBuddy May 11 '26

Ive got a vortex crossfire green dot on mine and its a blast to use.

I was also HEAVILY considering getting the alex homebrew 1-6 lpvo, I've heard nothing but positive reviews from it, but have yet to try one.

A decent 1-6 lpvo or red dot seems to be the way to go one these.

0

u/thatregal May 11 '26

For this rifle I have a Vortex Defender micro dot that I will be mounting on a high rise rail, but for a good beginner red dot I’d recommend at “Vortex Spitfire” decent price and should come with a high rise mount if you’d like.

As far as upgrade go I plan on doing the range view sports full upgrade package

https://www.rangeviewsports.ca/derya-tm-22-performance-upgrades-professional-services/

1

u/eldiabIo May 11 '26

Thanks man appreciate it gonna do some research on the upgrade package you just recommended. Cant wait to get mine gonna be in white, like that trooper look lol

2

u/thatregal May 11 '26

My brother has one in white, looks so bad ass! And no prob! Make sure you post your build id love to see it!!

1

u/MemoryParallax May 11 '26

She’s a beaut, Clark

1

u/GabRB26DETT May 11 '26

Hey man, love the rifle, what's the hand guard ? I absolutely despise the stock hand guard

2

u/thatregal May 11 '26

It’s actually just the stock hand guard but I added Mlok rail covers on the side and I added the extra length of picatinny rail on the top

1

u/MasterScore8739 May 11 '26

I for the life of me can’t find a solid answer to this question:

Can you change the forend on any of these? I know the one is polymer and doesn’t look like it’d fit anything. Curious about the aluminum versions though.

2

u/thatregal May 11 '26

Yes just requires removing the top picatinny rail

2

u/MasterScore8739 May 11 '26

Wait wait wait… so you can use a regular AR style forend?

If that’s the case, my wallet is about to be a couple hundred bucks lighter.

1

u/KidRadio12 May 12 '26

Why does it look low poly?

1

u/EnggyAlex Alex's Homebrew May 12 '26

Build quality aside this is the best tm22 so far

1

u/Status_Ticket5044 May 13 '26

Are they beginning to skimp on materials/QC?

2

u/EnggyAlex Alex's Homebrew May 13 '26

check my other post

1

u/Status_Ticket5044 May 14 '26

Oh, the ratty bolt. I would seriously take it up with North Sylva. That IS bullshit.

1

u/nyeahehfam May 12 '26

FUCK thats sexy, is that the pro? I heard a 12" feather should be coming soon. A 12" feather or WMR would be great.

What is wrong with this red dot ?

1

u/georgeofthejungle71 May 12 '26

I want one. But won't buy one. We all know why.

1

u/jokemaestro May 12 '26

Why not? (I dont know why)

2

u/georgeofthejungle71 May 12 '26

Well. More than five years ago the government banned a bunch of guns and said. You can use ones that aren't banned. So. Like many people, I bought some of those. They then banned those and are on the verhe of confiscating them for no or nearly no compensation.

So. I'm not putting more money into buying anything new until this is settled.

1

u/BlandRusk06 May 13 '26

Hey, don’t insult that red dot sight. I have it, and it works just fine! Where did you buy the barrel shroud?

1

u/thatregal May 13 '26

I can’t lie I use this sight as a place holder for new guns that I’m still deciding what sight to use on. Before the tm22 it was on a crusader crypto which I put atleast 1000 rounds of 5.56 through and it held zero without issue which blew me away. The barrel shroud is stock, it is mlok rail covers and a mlok afg

1

u/benjy017 May 15 '26

I'm looking at getting one of these (already have the feather). How easy was it to replace the handguard and what did you put on there?

1

u/SolemnSpider May 17 '26

Have you shot it without the stock? How does it feel?

1

u/tester_m Jun 04 '26

Could you please confirm the overall length? Can't even find the Pro 12" on their website...

1

u/Fabulous_Pack_4336 24d ago

28 inch and their available on tenda canada

2

u/WeightedDips95 May 11 '26

Damn, thats tight. All it needs is a top charging handle kit.

2

u/thatregal May 11 '26

Appreciate it man, that’s a great idea need to get on it right away!

4

u/WeightedDips95 May 11 '26

Huge upgrade. Fun to run, reminds you of an ar15, and, imo, makes the gun look 10 times better.

1

u/Status_Ticket5044 May 13 '26

Go Alex Homebrew on the T handle. The Tommy Ent version is not ready for prime time. Use neither on a plastic receiver.

2

u/thatregal May 13 '26

My guy is doing the lords work making sure people don’t mess up and buy the wrong stuff, words can’t describe how much I appreciate people like you 🤣🫡

1

u/Livid_sumo May 11 '26

Hey I thought you hated fun ?

0

u/WeightedDips95 May 11 '26

What are you referring to?

1

u/MBGLK May 11 '26

Looks good man

1

u/thatregal May 11 '26

Appreciate it! The compact size makes it a lot of fun

1

u/dirtyoldguy1966 May 11 '26

I love my TM 22, great working and looking gun

3

u/thatregal May 11 '26

Agreed, they did a great job with this rifle for the price

1

u/Whispersfine May 11 '26

This is the way.

1

u/Rare_Matter9101 May 11 '26

That thing needs a mag shroud. If you have a 3d printer it's easy as pie.

3

u/WeightedDips95 May 11 '26

Makes the gun look like a dolarama toy. Can we kill this tacky fad already?

2

u/DblockDavid May 11 '26

why? are you embarrassed about shooting 22? never understood the shroud

2

u/Rare_Matter9101 May 11 '26

Nah, it's just tacticool! I shoot 22lr with pride 😄

One could make an argument the shroud makes it easier to grab the mag, but let's be honest with each other - we ain't special forces haha

1

u/DblockDavid May 11 '26

fair point, never thought about grabbing the mag easier 🤙

My apologies, this is the Magpul MOE SL grip

https://magpul.com/moeslgrip-ar15-m4.html?mp_global_color=118

Although I must say it does sit more vertical then the factory tm22 grip, but I think it feels nice

0

u/looloopklopm May 11 '26

Needs some mag sleeves!

0

u/iNeedAdivorce May 11 '26

Needs more feet

-3

u/loganisme12 May 11 '26

Kinda a weird setup for a 22lr is it just bc ar platforms being bassically band u want a range toy that looks similar no judgement just kinda a odd setup for something with bassically no recoil

1

u/SolemnSpider May 15 '26

I hate to admit it but i like the ARP look
