Feets / Collection / My build 12” tm22
Still waiting on a FDE stock and a vortex defender to replace the shitty red dot
Happy I pulled the trigger on this, guns extremely compact as it should have been when it first came out.
I’ve owned 3 so far and this one is by far my favourite

The problem with .22WMR is that it doesn't kill paper or steel (or small game) any harder, while at the same time costs more than 9mm does. You get about 50 yards more effective range (.22WMR has dropped at 150 yards as much as .22LR has at 100) as compared to the +100 of .17 HMR (or the +150 of .17 WSM) for roughly the same price (or 1.4x the price, in .17WSM's case), and generally speaking if you need to shoot a rimfire that far semi-auto operation may not be helpful.
You can't use it in IPSC mini-rifle or at NRL22 matches either; as for use in any other kind of competition, see above.
This is why the usual pattern is "sure, we'll make a run of these off of our existing design and also do a .17 HMR", and then it takes way longer because simple blowback in this family of calibers is oddly tricky. And then they don't sell, and then the manufacturer throws in the towel.
It was less trouble for Derya to spool up production for 9mm rifles than it would be to redesign the TM22. Can't say I blame them.
