I was surprised by this. On Vancouver island, once you get out of Victoria, there are lots of loggers and other folks that have a bit of redneck in them. Up by Campbell River and farther north, lots of the stop signs on the logging roads have bullet holes in them haha.
IME the big differences you see in people's attitudes and beliefs are rural vs urban. You don't see big differences in rural people from different provinces, and vice versa with city people. I've seen that in every province I've been in.
Yep. Rural BC is solid blue, check out the riding maps, it's pretty interesting. Vancouver and Victoria just have more seats that the whole rest of the province, but geographically, the entire province outside of those 2 cities (and Kamloops) went conservative basically.
Us folks in rural BC have more in common with Albertans and Saskies then we do with folks in Vancouver.
I went to Vancouver recently and man, I don't know why anyone wants to live in that city. Neat to visit, but what a fucking nightmare to live in.
Vancouver, Victoria and Kelowna/Kamloops make all the decisions from there hide away cities of drugs, crime and blind consumption. People who are "so educated" but are afraid and willfully ignorant to firearms, and truly believe that a totalitarian government is for the good of the people. As long as it provides a structure of their choosing, of course.
I've had friends come up and say in person they agree with my posts, but can't like or reply, lest their more liberal friends turn against them. They don't want to get canceled in the city...
I say you don't need that kind of fear and negativity in your life. 😬
Yeah it’s Cottageland, the schools are EMPTY during hunting seasons, I went hunting with my English teacher on my last year of high school
We also do a lot of fishing trips, when I was in primary school we raised salmons and set them free in a Salmon River… which means that I have a claim to fish in that river without a license… since I brought the damn fish there

RURAL quebeckers are every bit as rednecky as elsewhere in the country, maybe moreso. They're just vastly outnumbered.
Same sort of thing goes for BC. The further you get away from the big cities, the more 'my kinda people' there are.
