Hey guys looking for information before purchasing anything. Iv been eyeing the backland hunter and am wondering about the legality of filing the magwell to fit stanag mags. I understand this is Reddit and not a lawyer. But to my understanding of the law, the gun is classified by its action. And filing the magwell does not change this. The firearm uses crypto mags which are known for being bad. I got into a debate with a local firearm store about the mod I seen on gunnuts and am wondering if by doing so I’m putting myself at risk. Hi all. I noticed my PAL application on RCMP's Individual Web Services and MyCFP portal don't have matching information about my application status

On Individual Web Services it says that my application is valid and will be printed&mailed yet on MyCFP portal it is still in the processing/background check stage.

My question to you all with experience in the process is should I trust Web services or MyCFP? I'm not sure which one is more accurate!

If you are a Canadian citizen no convictions here and have a criminal record in the USA is this something you need to disclose this information in the application, do they look at records in the USA or is it best to talk to CFO or a lawyer?

Just thought I’d share my experience on renewing and upgrading my license to RPAL.

Sent in my application and was received on April 8th, approved for printing and mailing on the 27th. These seems very quick and I wasn’t sure what to expect based off reading others experiences.

Glad to finally call myself a PAL holder. For my fellow Quebecers, here are my dates:

Applied for PAL/RPAL on February 2 (both my references answered the questions the same day). My girlfriend completed her part on Friday the 6th of that week but missed the CFO call a few weeks later. She called back the next day.

I was approved on March 3 (29 days after applying) and received my card in the mail today — 13 days after the approval notification.

Looking forward to going target shooting/plinking soon, so I’ll probably have a bunch of questions here since I’m really green.
