Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Heads up to anyone applying for a PAL; do not use debit/credit cards to pay for your license it will get stuck in processing amd not go through. Webservices doesn't update info that intricately. They send you a notice but they're 2-3 months behind sending out payment declined notices as in my cc was last tried Aug 5 (every 2 months they try again and dont send out a notice till you start inquiring heavily about it) and cfo just said the notice was sent last week for me but i havent got it yet. Use pre Auth money orders from a bank payable to the AG... 100% no issues if you do but don't make them have to sign for it to cash it or it will take a very very long time.

Very true. I had this problem when I upgraded my PAL to a restricted PAL. It is like the CFP lives in the 20th century.
