Heads up to anyone applying for a PAL; do not use debit/credit cards to pay for your license it will get stuck in processing amd not go through. Webservices doesn't update info that intricately. They send you a notice but they're 2-3 months behind sending out payment declined notices as in my cc was last tried Aug 5 (every 2 months they try again and dont send out a notice till you start inquiring heavily about it) and cfo just said the notice was sent last week for me but i havent got it yet. Use pre Auth money orders from a bank payable to the AG... 100% no issues if you do but don't make them have to sign for it to cash it or it will take a very very long time.

I used my Visa debit card as I don’t have a CC. Haven’t been charged anything yet. Hope that’s not why I’ve been waiting forever for a charge.

Ooof, I don't think they accept Visa debit. Only CC. You should call in.

Interesting. On my application it never said it didn’t. But that could be the hold up. Not sure why they wouldn’t get in contact with me if they can’t receive payment but whenever I can get through to CFO I will figure it out.

Nothing in the application about debit cards. Visa Debit ≠ Visa CC

  1. Indicate method of payment. Do not send cash.
Make certified cheque or money order payable to Receiver General for Canada.
Visa MasterCard AMEX Certified Cheque Money Order

I keep phoning and waiting on hold but have to leave because I’m working or it just goes ‘offices are now closed’ and hangs up on me. They close at 3pm which is a joke. Has to be an error because it seems everyone is getting there’s approved and charged fast and my crap is still stuck.

If I was you I'd send them a money order... the only way I was able to address this was by contacting my MP an dhaving them have the CFO check it and he told me not the processing office.. I would say send a money order, they just kept telling me automated responses like check the website.ect and a day later the cfo called me after sending me a auto response to jsut wait the day before because my mp called him today to resolve it... he instantly helped me and I found out it was a card type issue. He said money order 100% works everytime but don't make the payee have to sign for it to cash it and send it 1 day priority mail the cfo gets it soon as it's payed and often the verdict is already decided at that point so two weeks after they get your paperwork you'll have a card

I keep trying to get ahold of Alberta CFO seems they always closed. Just annoying as hell. RCMP website says initial review bullshit and that’s it. They’ve had it since May. Never heard of this possible issue until now. Never had problem with Visa debit but could be issue. Thanks for the tip.

It took 2 days to talk and get my consent form to my local mp. It took them less than 24h after getting my consent form to contact ONTARIOS cfo and then also him calling me before his shift ended to get me all info all at once and was super polite and helpful. These conservative mps are a differnet breed of politicians theyre fricken super efficient.. or at least my mp was she's a gem! Me either with the debit cc thing.

Thanks a lot for your input. First time someone had a plausible explanation to this bullshit wait.

Agreed I'm with TD if you are too that makes sense and they even said they don't know why it failed. Meh it's worth the extra cash just to see what comes first.. wait a week and email your local MP just as a precaution. Might get charged twice or you might not either way I guarantee it will work faster with my suggestion

Something's wrong with your credit card company.

Very true. I had this problem when I upgraded my PAL to a restricted PAL. It is like the CFP lives in the 20th century.
