Both are great, flip a coin.

My personal choice would be m&p9 because the grip feels great in my hands and there are shitloads of parts available.

It's always better to get the optic ready just incase you want a red-dot down the road, a custom optics cut will run you hundreds of dollars.

Thanks I was leaning towards m&p9 but a friend of mine told me he found a site with the glock g17 gen 3 in stock and told me to buy now and think later. So I kinda impulse brought the glock g17 lol...

Did I make a mistake getting the G17 over the M&P9?

nawh, glocks are common as fuck in Canada, and parts will be very accessible.
