Timeline update for y’all

Paid June 21

Received Reference number July 14 (never again ronin sports. Never fucking again)

Asked bc/yt cfo 2 days ago if they needed any more info/foot pics

Got my transfer notification this morning!

Let’s see how long ronin takes to ship. If the rest of my interactions is any indication I’ll have my pistol in early 2032.

I'd purchased a SIG M17 (no safety) from them as well, in early June. I was only notified three weeks later that, oops, they didn't actually have the gun and were waiting for their supplier to come through.

They seem to have good reviews, and they were informative when they got around to contacting me, but I was not impressed by that. I ended up cancelling with them when Wild West Shooting Center got the same gun in with the manual safety, which I prefer anyway for the military authenticity.

Same. Bought a glock 19x and was told it’s being ordered and I’m on the waiting list. They refunded me right away. Should have waited my LGS has stock now and I love dealing with them (reliable gun ftw)

The thing that really bugs me is that being out here in Ontario, those three weeks of not knowing they didn't actually have the gun in stock made a huge difference. If they'd been able to start my transfer when I paid for the thing, I might have it by now, but seeing as how my transfer only got started in late June, I won't be getting my hands on it until well after the freeze takes effect - and there's always the possibility that they cut off transfers in the queue, and then I'm fucked. Will not be too pleased if that ends up happening.

That’s infuriating. It’s crazy that they don’t seem to give a fuck that there’s a deadline and that’s all we get FOR THE REST OF OUR LIFES.

I think they very much give a fuck. The cynical (realistic) side of me knows that the entire reason they held off so long on informing people was because they knew that we were all panicking and would immediately cancel and go somewhere else if we knew they didn't have stock.

On the upside, even in the worst case scenario, I do already own a Glock, so I'm not going to be completely screwed. There's going to be a lot of people in this community that aren't so fortunate. I'm glad to hear that you're in the clear now too.

Oh ok maybe i should try emailing them then, been trying to call bc cfo daily but can never get through. Surprised to hear how quickly you got yours approved!

Make sure you send all your info correctly. Dob. Place of birth, both feet, etc.

Also I think bc/Yukon cfo is probably shooters and we’re lucky to have em compared to stuff I been hearing about other provinces.

The difference is that the majority of the panic purchases were in Alberta and Ontario.

If you live outside those two provinces, transfers are going much quicker because the backlog is physically smaller.

Well just common sense and also what my LGS told me.

Restricted transfers need to get approved by provincial CFOs. The place where I bought my CZ told me that the majority of sales have been in Alberta and Ontario which then naturally means those two CFO offices are going to have the largest backlogs to work through.

Purchases that have to go through the BC/Sask/Manitoba etc CFOs are going to be a lot quicker because those provinces simply haven't seen as many purchases.

Yeh my first handgun purchase which was the day after announcement was completed within a week but ive made multiple purchases in the beginning of July which have yet to move, i did receive all the transfer numbers from sellers and CFP said they have all gone to BC cfo for approval

Hate to tell you, they probably don't have your gun, and are stalling for time so they can acquire it from the distributor before you find out and cancel the order.

That's what happened to me.

Yep, that was exactly my experience. Didn't find out until three weeks after paying for it that they didn't actually have it, and that they were "hoping to get it from the supplier soon".

Good luck, and maybe start shopping around for the same gun elsewhere pre-emptively.
