This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Looking at purchasing some fire arms in the coming week for the first time, and hoping people can recommend me some good gun safes that don't break the bank. Thanks

Get a high quality lock.

Whatever you wanna buy type it into YouTube followed by picked/bypassed, best way to assess a locks security.

If it’s got an electronic lock have it replaced with a high quality mechanical lock

Layer your security. So hide the safe, have a camera pointing at your front door, paint the ground floor walls white so prowlers are silhouetted, install motion sensor lights outside.
