Looking at purchasing some fire arms in the coming week for the first time, and hoping people can recommend me some good gun safes that don't break the bank. Thanks

I just use a stackon cabinet from Canadian Tire, does the job just fine and has bolt mounting holes for extra security. Always buy 2x the size you think you will need. For example a 12 gun cabinet/safe realistically only holds 6.

Get a metal gun cabinet instead of a safe. Most of the safes under $2,000 are not much thicker.

You can get a gun cabinet for less than $200 for an 8 gun cabinet to $500 for a 30 gun cabinet.

It should be noted that gun storage numbers are not accurate. Treat it like tent numbers, you have to divide by 2 to get the proper storage number because it is base on guns with no bolt action, optics or accessories.

A "cabinet" still meets the legal requirements of a safe, so you can lock all your firearms and ammo in there without needing trigger locks.

Get a high quality lock.

Whatever you wanna buy type it into YouTube followed by picked/bypassed, best way to assess a locks security.

If it’s got an electronic lock have it replaced with a high quality mechanical lock

Layer your security. So hide the safe, have a camera pointing at your front door, paint the ground floor walls white so prowlers are silhouetted, install motion sensor lights outside.

Are any of those firearms going to be handguns? If so, I would recommend that you wait until the new secure storage regulations are published. They are likely going to specify what kind of safe you need for handgun storage, and it would suck if you bought something today, and then a month from now it's no longer considered legally adequate.
