Anyone having a delay in receiving their ATT And registration papers after the transfer?

I got the transfer approval email a week ago but apparently I’m waiting for papers in the mail now that I can’t bring my guns anywhere without? How long does this usually take?

Depends on how busy the government is. I’ve had to wait almost 3-4 weeks before but at least the transfer is done

Wow okay. So another wait. First time buying so I didn’t know this. Somehow the transfer let me take them home but I can’t take them back to the range to shoot! Makes no sense but, government

No it does cause if you read the letter, that transfer is a TEMPORARY ATT between you and place of purchase. The Registration paper is to PROVE you own the actual restricted. If an officer requests to see the registration and you don’t have it, then technically it’s like you are possessing stolen firearms cause you won’t be able to prove it on the spot. I guess unless you call CFP.

Okay I feel silly for not fully understanding. So when I get the papers I can prove they are mine and leave the house with them again. And the only way to get them is to wait until I get them in the mail? Not like an email like the transfer. And I need to have those papers on me all the time when transporting to probe they are mine .

Yes you do its part of the requirements for transport you can find it in the firearms act

You can transport to any range in your province (as reasonably direct) that’s part of your new RPALs conditions which that slip of paper in the letter you also have to bring with always

How frustrating that it’s just another step and more waiting. I’m confused as to why they transfer could be emailed but the registration papers must be mailed. My card already was lost in the mail once so I’m not holding out hope I’m going to get this package any time soon!
