Looking foreward to buying my first rifle soon.

I am stuck between getting a gsg-15, and a 10/22 (with a polymer "tactical" stock as on cabelas.ca)

Can anyone who owns one or both of these give me some feedback on which they would reccomend. I really like the looks and buttstock of the gsg, but the 10/22 is seemingly infinatley customizable due to the aftermarket for stocks, but the design and aesthetics of the gsg are extremely nice looking.

Any advice anyone?

I shot the 10/22 and own a GSG 15. The GSG is a neat little gun and the 10/22 is just a reliable workhorse.

I shot the 10/22 before I bought the GSG and honestly went for the GSG because there are no mag limits and I love to plink and have fun with .22LR, plus the special edition looks cool as shit with the folding stock.

It’s not a competition gun but my flagship rifle is a centerfire rifle right now.

Thanks for the feedback! I completely forgot about magazines when asking this, the GSG-15 special edition is what had in mind, and now will likely get. I do plan on getting an sks later on the paycheck after the purchase though. Those 110 round drums look like alot of fun on the gsg

The 110 round drums do look fun but they do jam a lot in all guns so be warned.

But afterwards they could be forced to be pinned in so buying it early may not = grandfather but again it’s speculation

Well, as far as I know, they can't track preexisting ownership of magazines, and I plan to do most-all of my shooting in the backcountry, so

"You can't stop me fool!"

They can't track taking the pin out of mags either... But risking jail time and the associated loss of job and costs just for some plinking fun doesn't sound reasonable to me.

I mean depends on if you wanna risk getting caught it’s could be the same risk as holding a mag that’s not pinned in the future. Will police go around checking? No but if a conservation officer or etc checks you’d be in big shit. For now yes your fine and of course depends on what’s in the OIC but is that a risk you wanna take?

Being able to actually track magazines doesn’t matter

I mean, yes. But, eh, at that point then even the standard 22-round magazines will also probably be banned or pinned to 5 rounds as well

Yes but it’s also a smaller hit going from 10rds to 5rds vs 150 to 5rds. Price difference is also probably big
