I just received my transfer number after having bought a handgun on june 8th. Store located in ontario, but I'm a Quebecistan resident.

Meaning that it took 6 days to have the transfer initiated in that specific set up. If you're in a similar situation, and bought a handgun more than six days ago, it's likely that turdeau won't be able to put his dirty hands on it.

Wow that's fast. I bought on the 4th in AB (ON store - SFRC) and have heard nothing.

Edit: I checked with the store and my transfer is indeed with the CFO. Next time on Dragonball Z...

Ah ok lol. I checked with the SFRC and my transfer is indeed with the CFO. Hope yours gets through ASAP.

Remember, it's the time for the CFO to acknowledge the transfer request, doesn't matter if it's the first or 10th restricted. That comes into play after it is acknowledged.

The most important part is to have a transfer with a timestamp prior any actual freeze

Congratulations btw on your first restricted, handguns are a lot fun, with a harder learning curve than rifles, but in the end very rewarding when you get good at it. You should also take a look at doing the black badge course, IPSC is the next level in terms of sensations and you also get to be a safer shooter and the environment is very friendly toward new joiners. Just to confirm, this is only your TN, vs an actual approval, correct?

By TN you mean Transfer Notice ? My shop just sent me this : "Your restricted firearm transfer reference number XXXXXXXX , you may contact the CFO regarding transfer status at 800-731-4000"

To me it looks like that the application for the transfer has been well received by the CFO but not yet approved.

EDIT : " it does also says : Once the CFO approves the transfer you will be receiving an directly from them. Once received your item will be ready for pick-up/delivery, thank you. "

So yeah, 6 days just to get the transfer process initiated.

Yes exactly! I think the verbiage is confusing a bit so wanted to validate, but made a mistake because I wrote TN meaning “transfer number” not transfer notification, lol.
