Some gun owners vote liberal.

This right here. Not a gun owner yet (PAL pending), but I personally find a lot of issues more pressing than guns, such as education, healthcare, and affordability. I applied for my PAL for hunting purposes, so that I could save some money on food while also eating in a more ethical way. Our biggest issue is FPTP — proportional representation or ranked ballots would allow more political viewpoints into Parliament. No party fits 100% of my political viewpoints, but the CPC and I have nothing in common except for guns. That’s not enough for my vote.

What I originally said wasn't meant to be a good thing. Gun owners in this subreddit are a prime example of why enshrining gun rights in this country will be a very slow battle. Can't even agree to vote for the one and only party keeping guns alive.

Liberals and Poly want to get rid of guns primarily used for hunting. Use whatever rationale you want but fact of the matter is, bolt guns and shotties will be banned if you continue to vote liberal. They don't care about "eating in a more ethical way".

It’s not a good thing or a bad thing, it’s just a fact.

FTR I voted NDP in the last federal election. I love their policies. They also don’t have an official stance on guns at the federal level. I am solely interested in hunting, primarily from a socialist point of view of rejecting factory farming of animals, only taking what you need and sharing any excess that you don’t need. I have many socialist friends who are taking their CFSC because of my views. I also have lots of conservative friends who understand where I am coming from even if they themselves don’t agree with me.
