We understand that politics is a touchy subject, and at times things can get heated. A reminder of the subreddit rules, when commenting, where subreddit users are expected to abide.

Nothing's impossible, obviously, but keep in mind that the more they expand the definition of an assault weapon, the more guns they're stuck picking up the tab for (and they will have to pay for them, before somebody jumps in with "they can confiscate without paying a dime". Not on this scale. The optics alone would be too much, let alone the legal threat.)

We know that right now, the threshold for the amount of guns they're willing to confiscate is higher than 250, 000 (their AWB estimate) and lower than 1,000,000 (the approximate number of handguns). If they banned every gun with a box magazine and folding stock, they'd be well above a million.

Just something to think about when considering their intentions.
