My buddys and i have been talk and we suspect that all the gun ban of late (2020 oic and now the hand gun freeze) are due to the liberals fears of the future. And in particular order

Climate change

Between climate change and the economy there's a non insignificant chance that things get considerably worse for most people in the not too distant future.

When people suffer enough they tend to take it out on their leadership.

If you had money and power, and/or had been complicit (or culpable) for the situation getting so shite, you probably wouldn't want the masses armed either.
