While I think this is a possibility, wouldn't that need a written change in the Firearms Act?

Yeah, he said it would come in a future amendment to the bill.

I'm sure they initially intended to table the bill with the feature ban already in place. They obviously dropped this thing half-baked to leverage Uvalde. Same reason none of the accompanying regs are available yet, I'm sure.

As much as a feature ban sucks, if it's anything like California I'll take it over ban by name. They are ugly as fuck, but they are still functionally identical.

I have two worries with what they could do. 1: They ban all semi-auto centre-fire rifles. 2: They extend the feature ban to manual action arms.

Yeah I think that's the problem. All semi auto rifles are banned or perhaps restricted goes to banned and NR goes to restricted.
