Fix my gun Tm22 constant light strikes / feeding issues / bolt locked half open

I bought a new tm22 from FOC back in June (OG 18” full metal one). Finally had the chance to shoot it today and it wasn’t a great experience to say the least.

Before I went to the crown lands I ran a patch down the barrel and did a light lub around the bolt area with some hoops live (I just took out the guiding rod and spring but didn’t dissemble the bolt).

Cci blazer: completely unusable. Every 2-3rd round was a light strike.

Aguila super extra: slightly better but a light strike every 5 rounds or so.

Cci mini mag: best, maybe one light strike every mag.

On top of this, I will get a double feed or stove pipe about once every 25-30 rounds

Sometimes the bolt would lock half open (no idea what’s going on here) and I’d have to twiddle with it with the mag out and and toggle the safety until I could get the bolt fully open to pull out the stuxk round.

Anyone else have similiar issues? I’m about to send this back for a warranty (but I am not expecting too much).

You’re likely running it too dry. As a few others have said you need to generously lube the bolt. It’s not the same design as a 10/22 which can run basically bone dry. The bolt is catching on the receiver. Just make sure you don’t get lube in with the firing pin.

Perhaps, though the gun is brand new and I already applied lube around the bolt assembly. A well made gun brand new should need to be fully dissembled to cycle properly more than 3 times in my opinion.

I’ll definitely do what you suggested though.

Mine shot like absolute garbage the first two times I took it out. Wouldn't cycle, stovepipes, fail to extract, double feed, every round light strike, you name it. I took it back out again last week after removing the left extractor and forcibly ran 100+ rounds through it, mostly manually ejecting all the light strikes. After that, it started to break in and is now cycling full mags of any ammo reliably with minimal light strikes.

I'm convinced it was just burrs or poor tolerances that needed to be ran hard to self-correct.

My first range trip was after only a basic clean and it was infinite light strikes. I lubed it like crazy , nothing else, and second trip was comparable to a normal .22 semi experience. I’m hoping to do my third range trip this weekend and I anticipate I’ll get the odd stove pipe or light strike still. I have both extractors installed still.

300 rounds, 2 light strikes I guess they were, but reloaded and shot them both. i followed my own advice and added even more lube to the bolt before heading out. I then tried to shoot hollow points.. FTF every other round. Gave up after 30 rounds. Hollow points suck in my TM-22 lol. They get stuck right in the magazine, actually.
