The RCMP in BC have been running a Collection point and been sending appointments to people who signed up to drop off.
I bet they are continuing regardless of the SC case and will use the numbers as some kind of Justification.
They can get bent.
Remember folks. They're only entitled to the receiver. Strip those things down. (If it comes to that)

Just don't comply at all if it comes to that. There's not nearly enough prisons to arrest us all. They will have to grandfather us.

They're not "entitled" to anything. This is nothing more than a voluntary handing over of ones own testicles.

Can confirm, one in my town. Van island. Beside a dog park I frequent daily. Havnt seen a single "customer".

I donāt know why I never thought of that. Are upper receivers considered firearms too? I know you are unable to Aquire AR15 uppers, but is this because the ar15 is prohibited, so its parts are prohibited, or is the upper receiver a firearm so thatās why itās banned?
2
u/Sunray21A 15d ago
They specifically included the upper receiver of the AR-15. Because they knew ppl would just give them the lower receiver and keep the rest and that would look bad on the media table of all the "Assualt Weapons turned in"
-13
u/Sco0basTeVen 16d ago
They are not only entitled to the receiver. The information states the firearm must be complete and assembled.
You can bring them a receiver, but you wonāt get paid.

u/Yamaganto_Iori 16d ago
We aren't going to get paid either way so don't give them the photo op of a complete gun.

u/Sco0basTeVen 15d ago
Iāve already got paid for mine, so have many others. Keep making shit up though.
19
u/New-Replacement-2352 15d ago
The only reason you got paid is because the compliance rate is so low, the government doesnāt have enough money to pay for half of all the guns they banned. So you can thank everyone who didnāt comply for your payout.
-6
u/Sco0basTeVen 15d ago
Thatās still a different story to everyone in here confidently claiming nobody is ever going to get paid because the government is tyrannical.

Iām a law abiding immigrant. Isnāt that what you want? Iāve seen this sub shit talk other immigrants disregarding Canadaās gun laws by shooting prohibs or restricted guns on crown land. And how they should be reported to the same tyrannical gov taking our guns.
So do you want this immigrant to disobey this countryās gun laws, or assimilate by being fully compliant?
So you either respect and follow this countries gun laws, or you donāt. But when immigrants donāt, thatās bad.
Uh oh is that a narrative feedback loop? Donāt get confused!
3
u/CanadianRunner03 15d ago
As of this time right now you are not required to hand in your guns by law, youāre not breaking any laws lmao
Thereās a difference between civil disobedience and going out and shooting into the air and being dangerous to people around you and giving groups a bad name
Plus I donāt understand why being an immigrant has to do with this in particular, youāre trying to pull a really weird victim card to justify your shitty boot licking decisions
4
u/DFA_Wildcat 15d ago
There is no gun ban law. You're preemptively jumping the gun. If you feel you need to do something that the law doesn't require then you do you. You're not complying with anything, there is nothing to comply with at this point. Someone is definitely confused here and it's not the person you're responding to.

I have two kids, a wife and a house in this country. You can call me whatever kinda cuck pussy you want. Holding onto two more range toys when I have plenty more in my safe is not the hill Iām willing to die on and potentially lose my place here in this great country.
If the people in this sub want immigrants to assimilate and be responsible and respectful gun owners when they come here, ridiculing someone for complying with federal programs and decisions is counterproductive to your supposed message.
You said nobody is ever going to get paid, and youāre already wrong in that point.

legal and civil disobedience.
reckless behaviour, regarding firearms on crown land, makes licensed gun owners everywhere look bad and justifies the current climate of gun control in many people's eyes.
bringing out prohibs could lead to nasty headlines that aren't helping us any.
holding onto your shit for at least the amnesty period is good for Canadian gun culture. low compliance rates are good for Canadian gun culture.
i totally get it turning them in if/when it comes to that, for people who would lose their immigration status, job, living situation, idk, whatever. if it comes to that, i get it. but it hasn't come to that.
being spineless is not what we want for Canadian citizens. so we're encouraging others to legally stand up for themselves. some wanna take it further, posture all tough like, that's them. i don't necessarily disagree, but you are actively hurting the rest of us by turning your shit in early, because it shows a lack of unity, not standing up for ourselves.

Everybody here has been saying they will never pay out anything at all despite what they offered. That is categorically false. I agree with the sentiment you laid out, but the sentiment of this sub is misguided slightly by emotion and posturing compared to reality.
Is stopping for a police traffic stop on the highway spineless? Is unloading your firearm before getting back on your quad in the bush spineless? We all conform and submit to the government every single day as adults. Is paying income tax submitting and being spineless?
We all demonstrate mass compliance to the arbitrary demands of our government on a daily basis. Not handing in a rifle you will never use again does not make you a freedom fighter or a modern day martyr.
Going door to door to spread your message or joining local council or trying to become a politician to change the system is a more productive use of your time than waxing poetically in a Reddit echo chamber.
Same people claiming itās spineless to comply with their own government are criticizing Carney for his elbows out approach and not folding like a paper towel to Trump. Iām generalizing obviously but same people saying resist to Canada are saying comply with America. Canāt make it up.

u/717Luxx 15d ago
civil disobedience doesn't mean ignoring random laws. it means opposing "unjust" laws. the other laws you talk about there aren't all arbitrary.
we stop at traffic stops in the interest of public safety.
most people i know will ride in the bush with their shit loaded, cause they don't believe it's affecting anybody and/or they won't get caught. some see it as arbitrary. to me, it's whatever, I think it's not worth the possible hassle so I'll abide.
when we're being told "this won't affect legal gun owners" while they outline new regulations that will literally only affect legal gun owners and have zero effect on the actual issues, when the lifestyle I grew up with becomes a way to buy votes in major cities, I see that as an unjust law.
it's in my interest to encourage people not to comply. and I think you've done a majour disservice to the gun community by turning things in, especially months before the buyback ends, let alone the amnesty. frankly, from my perspective, you're part of the problem, and part of why i think the average modern Canadian is a pushover. I'm disappointed that any firearm owner in Canada would comply, I'm just glad it's not a popular choice.

u/DFA_Wildcat 15d ago
You think you're going to get paid even if you fully comply with a 100% functional firearm? š
-17
u/Sco0basTeVen 15d ago
Iāve already been paid. More than I paid for them initially. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Do not attribute to malice what can be attibuted to good ol' government incompetence.
They probably are just now starting to have the 9 months worth of meetings to discuss changing the date on the website.
The guy making over $100k a year who's sole job it is, to update HTML text on this particular page, is probably on a 6 month paid stress leave from the horrors of having to update the page the last time.

u/HappyCan7250 15d ago
I also attribute a lot of it to pure malice as us gun owners generally live in rural blue ridings - we're a cheap target to buy votes in urban centers. Theyre just malicious AND incompetent!
On this matter, Im glad their incompetent, despite it bleeding tax dollars. Just imagine if they were malicious AND competent and efficient!

No way in hell the government is ever going to get a single firearm from me. EVER!

It's not about anything. Tyrannical left wing nut job stuff. Carry on with your life as though they don't exist.

The buyback portion has not been extended. Only the amnesty for possession.Ā

u/UW_Baguette 16d ago
The screenshot translates to "you need to eliminate or destroy the firearms before the end of October 2026". Which is untrue.
1
u/chillyrabbit 15d ago
It is still true for the buyback portal.
I dont read French perfectly but understand the tone of the page.
Which is that for the buyback program and compensation you need to comply with the program deadlines which is October 31 2026.
Le g ally you don't have to, but to get the compensation money you need to comply with the program by their deadline not the SCC deadline

u/Weak-Coffee-8538 15d ago
Whether the SCC is positive or negative, I'm still keeping my property either way.

First, u can use google to translate but 2nd of all, instead of dividing us on language, how about we all get together, English and French guns owners, against those who would want to take them away from us, whatever language they may speak.

u/ImaKeeper2 14d ago
I dunno. The province who our government is trying to appease by the gun bans. Also the only province getting rid of prayer rooms in public places. Any location trying to ban guns and religion is going to get a lot of anger from me
