Recorded with what? An ID? Lmfao i understand the purpose but its pretty futile to record someones ID especially if they don't have a gun license,

i bought pellets once and they asked for my id, the store had a whole binder where they took down your name and what form of id was used to verify lol

Which is funny because my buddy always used to shoot his dad's guns and then decided he should actually be legal and get his PAL.

The day he gets it he walks into Canadian tire for a box of .223 and the girl sells it to him without asking to see anything lol.

Canadian Tire can be incredibly lax. I've had to tell employees to verify my PAL before selling me ammo. There's even one I argued with because he didn't want to check it. I just didn't want them to get in trouble. It was incredibly bizarre.

When I took my pal/rpal the instructor insisted we didn’t need a licence for ammo lol I’m too poor to buy in person I buy online when there’s a sale and they’ve always asked for my licence

Yeah i get that but wtf are they gonna cross reference it with? Lmfao its not like a gunn where the serial number has been logged and is easily tracked

Security theatre.

Remember how nail clippers were treated as potential weapons by airport security post-911?

Do they not care about nail clippers anymore? Can I cut my nails on a plane again!?

watching the news

"hey, I recognize that suspect, he was in the store last week and bought an airsoft gun, I should check the sales logs for his name and report him to the police"

It's basically Flock Cameras, but manual, and thus less billionairey

I've bought .308 ammo there and not been asked for any ID

It would be treated like bear spray, it gets registered to your driver's license /provincial ID.

Not in Alberta! Shit is just expensive!

Please elaborate? I worked at a Canadian tire in Calgary and that was the exact process for bear spray. Unless they decide to start requiring a pal for airsoft, that would be the process for registering the bb gun to a person.

Bear spray in high river- i bought for whole crew. No question when I asled for the whole case.

Interesting, considering it is controlled by the Canada Pest Control Act and has a federal waiver that health Canada considers mandatory.

"Bear repellents are registered under the Pest Control Products Act; it is illegal to use a pest control product without following label directions. Please complete the following information in order to comply with the Pest Control Products Act of Canada..."

Minimum wage employees doing minimum wage things.

Probably someone new who was well meaning but didn’t know better. I can’t even buy a wera wrench without it having to be removed from a locked cage and escorted to the cash register.
