Feets / Collection / My build New Gun Day!
Got a smoking deal at my LGS. Smith and Wesson model 1854 in 30-30. About time I added a lever gun to the collection.

I was hoping to find something in 44 or 45-70. But took one look at this bad boy and couldn't leave without it. It was that or a henry 30-30 but I just liked the fit and finish of this one a bit better.
Plus the model 1854 has quite a list of upgrades to choose from.

Aye, been looking at the Range Point Precision upgrades but they’re quite costly.

They are expensive but they are worth it i have the pew view on my .44 mag s&w and I love it. It is great I highly recommend

Got out and had a chance to shoot it today. Buttery smooth. Absolute blast to shoot.

Already learned about the safety release pin. Nearly lost that when I did my break down and initial clean. Close call.

havent had a single issue with mine so other than have fun and dont short stroke I got nothing haha
I ended up getting a 2nd 1854 in .357 mag just to shoot .38 spec since 30-30 can add up in cost.

I have always wanted a .357 lever rifle to share ammo with my GP100. Never sure which to buy, haven't actually managed to handle many.

Thanks! Hav not quite figured that out yet. Was thinking just something simple. Maybe a 3-9.
Its mosty going to be a deer/truck gun.

I wanted the stealth hunter in 45-70as well. But they didn't have it in stock locally. But this one is still really nice. Great to shoot.
The bolt is a Tikka t3x ace game in .308 with a dnt "the one" 7-35x56.

Be wary of the cheap 38 special ammo if your chambered in 357. They won’t light up your day.

Went with the 30-30 for this bad boy. It was the only caliber lever gun shop had at them moment.
Still need to pick something up in a pistol cal. But without the pistol to go with, it definitely became less of a priority.

I bought a LOT of Wolf .30 reloads for my GP100 and they're so smoky other gun owners have asked whether it's black powder... the smoke is intense and it turns the stainless finish black real quick.

Beauty. We have one left from this years order on the wall, whilst not my favourite of the lever offerings(hard to beat an SBL), definitely a solid choice and right up there.
