Buy recommendations Is it a good starter setup?

So after my recent post, i choose to start with a .22lr rifle for shooting range(100-300yards),it my first gun ever and i want to know guys if this setup it decent? My total budget is lil bit under 2k$ cad. Thanks you

( i have difficulty to choose the scope,too much specs to look)

Blazer will shoot worse than than Aguila in a bolt gun. SV is pretty much always better accuracy, HV for reliable semi cycling only

My RPRR loves CCI Mini-Mags more than any of the fancy stuff I’ve tried and I tried a bunch. On a good day I can print 10-round dimes at 50yd all day long with it.

Totally! Yeah I was honestly pretty surprised by the result. Surprised enough that I went back and repeated the experiment with whatever 2 or 3 Gucci ammo brands had given the best results and the mini-mags won the second time around too. Kept the order randomized with a few breaks so they all had a chance with a cold barrel and a warm barrel, and the results came out the same.

Sure was a shame having to spend a second afternoon putting all those rounds downrange, for science :)

CCI standard shoots fantastic from bolt 22s and is pretty reasonably priced. You can go up to Eley for higher quality stuff that's better for precision shooting, but work your way up; there's no need to right off the hop.

Personally, if you're shooting benchrest anyway, I'd skip the bipod and just shoot off bags. They're cheaper and more precise anyway.

You may find 16x insufficient if you're shooting paper as spotting your hits beyond 50 yards can get tough.

Nothing wrong with the RPR, but you might be able to get a Savage B22 Precision for cheaper. Personally, I prefer the B22 to the RPR, but they're both good. The B22 Precision comes in an MDT chassis, though, which I believe is a better chassis that will also offer better accessory support.

Buy SK or Eley. If you’re going to spend that much on a .22lr setup. Run some good ammo.

Instaid of getting a bulk pack buy 5 or 6 diffrent brands and types. Try eli, norma, some of the higher end cci and some others and see what yiur gun likes best. To get your started and on the range that ammo will do but your going to want somthing better for more sereous shooting

It’s not bad for the price. 1.2 moa 10 shot groups out of a cz 457, plenty for plinking

All 22s shoot different.

Some can shoot extremely well with 'bad' ammom
