Doesn’t matter. It’s a habit that’ll transfer that one time the gun is loaded, then boom. I do firearms testing for hunting and that would be points deducted.

Sure, but if we're nitpicking.... technically the gun aint necessarily "loaded".

“Treat every firearm as if it is loaded” is literally one of the biggest mandatory rules for firearm safety.

It’s not even nitpicking it’s a basic rule of ACT. There are literally instructions on the bottom of the exam sheet to deduct points every time the finger is on the trigger. I would be very wary to shoot around you.

You obviously are casual with firearm safety based on your attitude towards this situation. I’m a very chill guy, but firearm safety is where everyone needs to be on the same page. You’re reading a totally different book.

I dont put my finger in the trigger guard either... I shoot 3 gun so im we'll versed on the matter. OP simply posted "My brother the firearm is loaded" and im simply pointing out that technically it may not be as the CH is locked back. That doesn't mean im endorsing what he's doing with his finger now does it ?

You can have your opinion and I can have mine. And based on my opinion, I wouldn’t shoot with you. Everyone knows you do not put your finger on the trigger regardless if a firearm is loaded or not. This is literally not a discussion any well versed firearm owner will have. It’s an end of story conversation.

It’s literally the first thing they teach you during the PAL course
A: assume every firearm is loaded
C: control the muzzle direction
T: finger off the trigger
S: see that the firearm is unloaded by PROVEing it

P: point the firearm in the safest possible direction
R: remove all amunition from the firearm starting with the magazine, then the chamber
O: observe the feed path
V: verify the chamber is empty
E: examine the bore for obstructions
