So when the police previously said 90+% of guns used in crime were smuggled that was a lie? Or is this the lie?

I think it has to do more with how they define "crime guns" is misleading because it includes toys, replicas, 3d printed guns and air guns.

Yes, and as stated, ANY firearm that is not traceable is automatically labeled "domestic".

So, all those handguns coming in from the US with serial numbers obliterated, if not caught at the border, once discovered on the street will be classified as having originated in Canada.

ANY firearm, toy, replica, air soft, pellet gun, etc etc, discovered at a crime scene, (not even used in the crime, just present) are classified as crime guns in the stats.
