Not possible because after October 31st itâs a crime, you have to be under amnesty otherwise theyâd have to charge you the second you confiscate

The guns have to be surrendered by Oct 31st, but there's a lot of admin work police will have to do after the fact. They'll need to process and catalog each gun submitted, probably file reports, etc. The government could have also just put a generic end date to the agreement.
To me this isn't a smoking gun of amnesty extension, though I do believe they'll have to do something given the uptake numbers.

it would be so amazing if they rule that any of these OICs that prohibited firearms that many people use for hunting are illegal. I mean, they are illegal by the definition of the OIC law, all they have to do is.... follow the law

Yep. Would be nice to have to have them force the issue via legislation rather then just setting a precedent you can OIC everything you like.

Does not matter now though that they have a majority government. If in a long shot the Supreme Court sides with the CCFR and says itâs invalid, with the majority government they just pass it as a law the next day.

Yea it wouldn't be next day as that's not how that works. Even with a majority government you still have to go through something called the house of commons and senate. Do you know how long Bill C-71 took? You know when the Liberals had a majority government? https://www.parl.ca/legisinfo/en/bill/42-1/C-71 From house to senate it took March 20th 2018 to May 28th 2019. That's 14 months. With a majority government. 15 technically if you count that it took till royal assent till June 21st 2019. Legislation doesn't just happen in a day even with a majority government. That's what makes OICs horrifying. Atleast when it's in the house you can get a bit of a heads up at what's to come. When it's a OIC? You get zero warning and are at the whims of the government.

Oh yea that they can do. However even with a majority government this shit is not instant. The government likes to take there sweet time at getting things done.

Idk what the crime rates are like in Waterloo, but I bet they arenât low enough to be committing resources to this nonsense. Nice chunk of change but if they have the manpower to do this, they should be out doing productive things.
Add another million to the money our government has wasted, on behalf of uninformed anti-firearm lobbyists, at the cost of taxpayers.

Two officers likely on overtime per residence, possibly processing two residences of firearms per day on average, time extended for potentially pressing charges, multiplied by X number of PALS in Waterloo. I may need assistance with my math, because I don't see this being enough funding.

Their response time is generally just no response.
90% of WRPS officers seemingly only have time to lie and escalate, not actually respond to legitimate issues.

Human trafficking, car thefts, break n enters gang related shootings are pretty persistent in the region.. I have a hard time believing theyâll allocate staff to go door to door to confiscate firearms from legal gun owners.

Nice way of putting those tax dollars in their pockets. $899,300 you gotta be kidding me. The guns recovered would not even total $100,000. Instead of bridging the gap between police and community they are going against lawful citizens. No wonder people donât trust cops.

Well it only effects licensed gun owners and there's next to 0 cases of fully licensed vetted gun owners shooting up the streets.. So it'll go from like 0.3 per year to 0.1? Totally worth billions. While we're cutting federal jobs and contracts because money is tight and the economy's fucked.
Let's not look into the ~250 shootings a year by non licensed criminals. There's no paper trail for those guns so it's way too much effort.
Did banning AR15s help the statistics? It's been like 6 years. That's plenty of time for the stats to reflect the success of the bans.. Hmm. Stats are saying homicides are slightly up since then.. WTFFFF? đ
