Well, OP can't fucking do math for one thing.. We have 340000 PAL holders in BC, but they divided by the population of the province, not the number of PAL holders. which gives a smidge under 5% compliance.

But we all know that ain't the fucking case, and if you go by the rather short estimate of every PAL holder owning 2.5 guns, you get down to about 1.8%. Do the same math with Ontario (69000 PAL holders) and you come out at 1.6%

Alberta, understandably, had a much lower compliance rate, but they have close to the same number of PAL holders as BC, and marked 0.8% compliance.

Maybe we should stop aiming blindly around the room and actually start focusing on the problem at hand instead of blaming the guy next door?

Um, can you do math? If you divide BC's ASFCP number by the population of BC, you'd get a lower number since the population of BC is far higher than the number of BC PAL holders. If the OP truly did calculate his results using the approach you are accusing him of, BC would have a lower rate of compliance - i.e. OP would be making BC look better, not worse.

However, the truth is that the OP's math is not wrong; 15600 ASFCP firearms divided by number of BC PAL holders (368K) gives a number just over 40 firearms per 1000 PAL holders.

The fact that you're so upvoted is what actually shows that people in this subreddit either can't do math or are butthurt that this specific statistic portrays BC gun owners in a negative way.

Sensitive much? Nobody is really blaming BC - for all we know, proportionally there are just more restricted PALs in BC than the rest of Canada. You're crashing out on the OP for no reason.
