I heard a majority of firearms declared were from business that no longer sell these firearms.

Yes, and they ran out of money in Quebec so every firearm listed West of Quebec got no money in the "buy back" they were just confiscated.

This was the plan all along, they are putting all small local gun shops under. A lot of them had to declare bankruptcy because of this.

As much as I completely hate the whole situation going on, that is completely false. There is still money left in the fund and no small gun shops did not go out of business because of this. If a small gun shop went out of business it's purely because of the price increase of anything imported into this country. They just can't make a dime these days, they would have to mark the goods up so high to actually make a profit

Good bot

How many gun store owners do you talk to on a regular basis? Do you shoot at a lot of big competitions where you have a chance to hang out with a lot of them from all across the country often?

It's very clear you don't. Because you wouldn't be saying what you did if you knew anything at all.

Come to some of them, I'd be happy to introduce you to all the gun shop owners and sponsors.

This is a very serious allegation - do you have any supporting data? A lot of = 2, 10, or 100?

19

u/gihkal Mar 20 '26

Have you not seen how the economy is doing? The libs are trying to bankrupt small businesses of all kinds.

13

u/Certain_Low_4565 Mar 20 '26

I dont disagree, but when the other guy is asking for concrete data that doesnt rely on anecdotal evidence, and people in this sub reddit have an immediate response to just down voting, we're not really positioning ourselves here as the rational group are we?

-11

u/gihkal Mar 20 '26

You're talking rationally with regard to this issue?

If anyone was rational we wouldn't have this issue!

No amount of logic or misinformation is going to change anything. Libs, cons and NDP hate us Armand are far more focused on their party than Canada or Canadians.

It doesn’t make sense. Where do you guys get this kind of information? Do you use critical thinking at all?

9

u/Psychological-Dig-29 Mar 20 '26

I take it you don't shop with local firearm shops in your area if you haven't heard this.

Go shoot some matches/competitions and you'll get tons of time to talk with many firearm store owners. They'll all back up what I'm saying, it's a big problem.

part of critical thinking is the ability to see truth in facts without needing a specific chart or study to look at every single time you want to have a thought about something.

the claim that small buisness tends to do poorly when 90% of their stock becomes unsellable is not exactly a two sided claim.

This is a well known fact lol. What kind of rock do you live under sir...

Some of the firearm owners have passed away in the last couple of years who have families who have no interest whatsoever in firearms and only see them as liabilities is one plausible scenario.

“I don’t know where his guns went, but he did go boating with them right before he passed away. “

13

u/yummybunnybear Mar 20 '26

Hey easy there... let's not co-opt the government's questionable definition of "voluntary" lol

12

u/AcanthisittaNo7338 Mar 20 '26

The restricted ones are registered...so they know you have them.

I bought 2 stripped lowers for 150$ with the intention of building them. The government is now giving me 1880 for them, they know I have them, I need my PAL for my job plus I have handguns I would like to not lose.

I'll be buying 3 SKS's when they cut me the check, also I am spray painting my lower's bright pink before turning them in.

I may get down voted for turning stuff in but if I had stuff unregistered I wouldn't be turning them in, my hands are kinda tied.

7

u/Stevko_1 Mar 20 '26

they are giving you that much just for a stripped lower? i don't believe that

8

u/Dapper-Moose-6514 Mar 20 '26

It's 940 a lower, I have 2 of them. I also am skeptical but they never changed status as finished and have always been stripped lower. I took screenshots of the amount they are offering and have the original paperwork stating them as stripped lower's.

7

u/Stevko_1 Mar 20 '26

well i hope you get that much

9

u/Dapper-Moose-6514 Mar 20 '26

Me too, but the X is firmly pressed for doubt.

7

u/xpingux Mar 21 '26

Non-compliance is absolutely an option. Your hands aren't tied. FYI you're not gonna see a dollar.

-8

u/Dapper-Moose-6514 Mar 21 '26

Sure bud

1

u/xpingux Mar 21 '26

DM me when you get paid. I won't hold my breath. You're probably a bot anyway.

2

u/QuicknSleazy Mar 21 '26

They are not going to give you that. The one guy in cape Breton got a fraction of the amount they said they would give for lowers. And his reasoning was the same for declaring, he couldn’t appeal after or anything and basically said he was lied to and ripped off so he’s warning everyone else about when the buyback comes to their province.

1

u/AcanthisittaNo7338 Mar 20 '26

I agree with turning in stripped recivers if it's necessary, like with restricted. But definitely only stripped lol.

3

u/Dapper-Moose-6514 Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

Hypothetically speaking when the government changes or the law changes I would do it again and buy twice as many lower. My biggest regret is that I didn't save up and buy something NR.

1

u/bloody_nickelz Mar 20 '26

That’s so valid, I wouldn’t hate on someone for that.

1

u/DukeofNormandy Mar 21 '26

Jokes on them, mine legit got stolen and never recovered… yet I keep getting emails from RCMP requesting to turn them in. I wouldn’t have turned them in if I had them though.

0

u/OlMoldyLovesIsrael Mar 20 '26

destroy them and report it to your cfo.

3

u/thisghy Mar 20 '26

Only do so at the end of the deadline, boosting their numbers gives this program legitimacy.

1

u/OlMoldyLovesIsrael Mar 20 '26

Yup I wonder how busy those phones will be the before amnesty is up

2

u/AcanthisittaNo7338 Mar 20 '26

Well, i like the malicious compliance model more, turn in a completely stripped upper and lower, and nothing else. Though I don't have any restricted stuff I need to worry about.

4

u/OlMoldyLovesIsrael Mar 20 '26

I don’t want to boost their numbers. It seems to me the program won’t show the destroyed firearms. Just tell your cfos when you’ve destroyed your firearms

3

u/AcanthisittaNo7338 Mar 20 '26

Destroying stripped recivers to not pad numbers is actually a good idea too now that you mention it.
