Just watched that video on Pierres YT account about housing minister in parliament.... did he just fucking try to blame the housing costs and why no one can afford one on the current Iran war?????

Do liberals do nothing but fucking lie and make shit up? Seriously, if it wasnt for lying would the liberals have any talking points??

The Liberals managed to convince most of Canada that the runaway inflation we had been experiencing for at least the last 6 years was due to recent Trump tariffs.

They lie and steal because they know they can get away with it, because they have been for 11 years. Canadians are completely brain-dead and brainwashed.

Can our country hurry up and balkanize yet????

u/OxfordTheCat Mar 15 '26

No.

The Liberals calmly tried to explain to the demographic that gets its 'news' via tweets and YouTube shorts that inflation was a global phenomenon, and that Canada had the lowest amount of inflationary pressure of any of the G7 nations.

the runaway inflation we had been experiencing for at least the last 6 years was due to recent Trump tariffs

It seems like there was some significant event that happened about six years ago. And then every country on earth experienced significant inflation. I wonder what that was.

No one is denying inflation was global after COVID-19 pandemic. Supply chain shocks, stimulus spending, and energy disruptions pushed prices up everywhere. Yet it begs the question, why are WE slumping so hard compared to everyone else?

I always find this dodge super silly because it requires half truths.

You saying “it was global” doesn’t automatically mean governments had no role in how bad it got. Different countries made different policy choices on spending, deficits, and housing that influenced how inflation played out domestically.

Here's the reality, the world will always have some event, there will always be something that affects the global market. Just shifting the blame to that instead of holding our government accountable is why we're in the shitter in the first place.

Did we just choose to ignore the 80 billion deficit?

The crazy spike in food bank usage? The cost of groceries sky rocketing while these corporations are getting insane profits?

We're still pumping immigration to the max, while also giving jacking up our medical care dependency when people can't even find family doctors.

and let's keep it on topic here, the Liberals are still running plenty of useless virtue signaling programs, or did you just forget the current gungrab?

Where are all those houses that were supposed to be built? Everyone's buying a home right? People can afford that right?

I especially find the G7 comparison to be off base, G7 countries all experienced inflation, Canadians still saw some of the steepest increases in essentials like rent, mortgages, and groceries. Saying we’re better than the rest of the G7 doesn’t mean people feel better when their cost of living jumps dramatically.

More importantly, the political frustration wasn’t just about the economic explanation, it was about messaging. When politicians respond to rising costs by essentially saying “everyone else has it bad too”, it comes across as dismissive to people struggling to pay rent or buy groceries.

Trying to run defence for your party of choice while ignoring the facts is always a choice though I guess. Keep blaming 'the demographic'. At least say it with your chest.

Typical Liberal midwit take.

“Everyone is brainwashed except for me who gets all my info from Liebral subsidized mainstream media!”

And yeah, Covid. All the Neo liberal western government had the same insane overreaction and destroyed their economies.

It’s funny that it’s literal never the Liberals fault

and definitely don't look up what the housing minister also owns and is famous for besides being a politician. It's eye opening.

Do liberals do nothing but fucking lie and make shit up? Seriously, if it wasnt for lying would the liberals have any talking points??

If no one holds them accountable and thier base eats it up, why would they stop? Emotional arguments resonate with them and their base.

Edit: 2 minutes of full on gas lighting for those who havent seen it

It's actually just disgusting how much they lie. Not to mention all the promises they made before the election, all of which have turned out to be complete bullshit.  "We're gonna build half a million affordable home!" Guess how many that "build Canada homes" program has built? Fucking 9.  And only in Nunavut. And they won't be ready till 2027 iirc. "I'm the man to deal with Trump!" Oh yeah, where's that deal? Are we even gonna have USMCA renewed? "We're going to build at rates never seen before!".... Okay so what big projects have YOU started Carney? Even the big LNG project in BC was approved by HARPER!! The Liberals have been in for 11 years now and it's just getting underway? And Carney is trying to take credit for a project approved 11 years ago under the CPC as if he has anything at all to do with it?

Nothing is being done, nothing is being built. We're just continuing to get fucked by high taxes and a stagnant economy.

"We gave Canadians a 1% tax break!!!" Yeah, and then raised EI and CPP contributions so no net extra cash in our pockets, but they got to run a tax cut headline. Fucking pricks.

Absolutely painful to watch, same old liberals, new boss, let me guess “but pp would be worse” as they say that living out of a cardboard box.

Carney appointing the former mayor of Vancouver of all places as housing minister just shows me they know what theyre doing. Sick sense of humor. You can see it on Carneys face. He's constantly barely hiding his duper's delight. When he was accepting Idiotlout the other day you could see the grin trying to take over his face.

u/Old-Selection-1012 Mar 13 '26

Vancouverites also elected a house flipper as their MP (Liberal)

2

u/gamercast1337 Mar 13 '26

I havent looked into who the housing minister is but im assuming hes either a direct landlord eith a bunch of properties or sits on a board of directors for s company that is one of those company landlords? Like all recent housing ministers ?

8

u/Lumindan Mar 13 '26

Robertson was formerly the mayor of Vancouver. He was also famous for how bad things got there. Like he was one of major reasons they had a housing crisis there (keeping his rich buddies rich). He also got caught accepting 100k payout from CUPE (the government ethics probe quietly died), one of the companies he founded also got busted for fraud.

But like many Canadian politicians, they fall upward at our expense.

3

u/gamercast1337 Mar 13 '26

Holy shit seriously!??? Darn... I wish I was right then, at least that would be typical corruption but this .... this is advanced corruption.  Carney really knows how to pick em, eh? Yeah... people tend to fall upwards. Isn't there some correlation between that and the fall of nations? If not then there should be.

But hey once the Iran war is over I can get a house for 25k since thats clearly the issue with housing, as said so by him.

To quote our favourite public safety minister.

Don't ask me to explain the logic.

well, people believe whatever the gov says, so that's it. TBH, even for liberals, this excuse is just...ridiculous.....

I think this will make the divide between boomers and the youth split even more, with us youngin's being unable to afford a fucking apartment let alone a house for our entire adult lives so far. being told its the war that started 2 weeks ago fault, and the boomers believing it because TV says so. Hell boomers on P.Ps Facebook page are arguing saying shit lik "uuhh errrr it costs fuel to move building supplies and uh oil in concrete snd uh global costs go up and uh gas go up so bad but not comparable to carbon tax because uhhh PP GET YOUR CLEARANCE!!"

sorry for the schizo at the end I just fucking hate boomers so much its unreal.

u/HappyCan7250 Mar 13 '26 edited Mar 13 '26

Honestly like 90% of the time I see vile hatred being spewed on the internet nowadays, it's like 60-70 year old white men, acting like children screaming about maple MAGA. It's pretty nuts how immature that generation acts. No discussions of facts, just straight up hatred for anyone right of center and screaming fascist. The amount of times I've seen a 70 year old white guy calling Polievre a fascist is nuts. It's astounding how brainwashed some of them are. I don't know how anyone can look around at the country and think it's doing well.

It also drives me nuts when I see Melanie Joly or Carney get up in parliament and start screaming about "the greatest economy in the G7!" Yeah, okay Liberals, keep preaching from your 300k salaried ivory tower in Ottawa how great the economy is doing.

5

u/gamercast1337 Mar 13 '26

Honestly for me its old white women, old men too sure but mainly old white women. A group who has quite literally never suffered and got to experience the best economy ever and all the freedoms of the 60s-70s etc. They got to have their cake and eat it too, and now they think they know what's best for us youth. And the amount of bullshit they will pull out to do it is insane. I guess when you still believe a house is the cost of a current day used car and pay was matching that cost and didnt stagnate over a decade ago (side note liberals will argue it didnt stagnate because achtually it went up 2k over that time!🤓☝️) that housing costs being so expensive now is obviously the war in Iran! Damn those Iranians, making my housing more expenise, my food more expensive, my cost of living more expensive, my crime in my community explode, my rights erode, take away my chances of ever owning a real 1911 (unforgivable), taxes increase and more!!! Damn them!!!

Oh, if only Covid did what it was promised to do ....

u/Sharp_Phrase_9066 Mar 13 '26

I agree. These boomers are living in their big houses no mortgage, spending their pensions on cars, traveling around world, eating in fancy restaurants. Young generation? Cry ab it.

8

u/Lumindan Mar 13 '26

I think there's even a divide within young folks. Some of them refuse to move against the social tide, for some of them, all of their circle is incredibly liberal or conservative.

Don't get me wrong, boomers kinda did Canada dirty across the board, we can only hope as people age up, they'll wise up to the realities of cost and how tanked our economy is.

7

u/RydNightwish Mar 13 '26

I too have noticed that the ol' security clearance bit is suddenly making its greatest hits tour again. Liberal bots need a distraction from the bills, CAF being attacked in Kuwait and Carneys lack concrete position over the whole thing.

8

u/WeightedDips95 Mar 13 '26

Never apologize for hating boomers, king. They are the scum of the earth. Literally the only living organism I can think of that disadvantages their offspring.

Yeah. I mean I wasnt even specifically talking about gun owning boomers, because even the the fudds are a cut above the typical retiree that sits on their ass all day watching CBC. But yeah id be willing to bet the vast majority of people who folded imidiately and volunteered to participate in the "buy back" are grey haired. Ironic as they have the least to lose. They dont need the money. Also if they ever were caught it would be way less catastrophic than someone who needs to be employed. But boomers have no morals, no back bone, and theyd sell out their own children for a goddamn nickel.

All politicians lie and make shit up, just how it works now
