This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

Are there any 'new' muskets produced that work with smokeless powder? Don't want to deal with the whole explosive licensing stuff but wanna have a musket because it's fun.

Who told you that you need an explosives license for BP? I have enough powder, cap and balls for 1000 shots right now no problem.

As for new production muzzleloaders, marstar usually has them instock and uberti, pedersoli and pietta among others still make them. They almost all exclusively run BP and are not rated for smokeless. Currently eyeing up an 1862 richmond and sharps myself.
