My PAL license journey so far (i'm in AB):

-application received 6 months ago

-credit card charged 3 months ago

-emailed CFO for an update 6 weeks ago (still no response)

-contacted MP's office and they reached out to CFO for an update. CFO came back saying my application is still under review, and new applications can take up to 18 months. Refused to provide any more detail.

Do you have a history of mental health issues? Have you been convicted or charged with a crime? Are you known by police, or have connections with people who are? Any previous peace bonds? Any of your references contacted, did they say something stupid? Did you check yes to any other the form questions?

No to every single one of those questions. My application should be perfectly straightforward - or so I would think.

Try calling the cfo directly, don’t worry about your mp sounds like he gave you a response of im too lazy call back in a year and a half.
