My Chance for getting a PAL?

Hey,

What are my chances for successfully getting a PAL? I had some mental health issues over 10 years ago including a suicide threat and being placed in a psych ward. I got the help I needed and went through university and have been with my current employer for 6 years.

I have a family now and am an avid fisherman and would like to get into hunting and shooting and eventually teach my sons and take them with me.

Do I have a chance?

If I don't are there equally strict requirements for bow hunting or purchasing hunting bows?

You should be good, however you'll need letters/references from the doctors involved to show you no longer are a threat to yourself or others. In cases were applications have "personal history" the review process is MUCH longer than an usual application, your references most likely to be called, etc.

The process might be long and tedious, but I'd say you're more likely then not to get your PAL.
