Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

No you didn’t, it’s the natural course. It’s frustrating for sure mines been in since the 8th of September and doesn’t show on line. The longer it goes the more annoying it is. From what I can best guess I have another 2 to 4 weeks to wait before it shows online. And then another 2-3 before it’s in my hand. Of course there is A lot of exceptions to this, could be another month and I have it or another year. Take a deep breath check once a day, hope it shows up. Once it’s on and passed the initial stage give it a week or two and start phoning your CFO. Be polite and it will take you far. Good luck and post your time line on the most current post as it progresses. It will help others waiting compare their struggle

Give them a call ask for a status from your provinces Cfo, see if there isn’t anything you need to submit or help, often times being polite and respectful proactive seems to help speed the process. I’m stressing the polite like genuine because I’m sure these people have gotten a few angry calls, they are overworked and overwhelmed.
