What are the chances of Canadians getting back the ar15? I heard that the liberals fucked up badly by using the OIC. If that's not the case, than what's the point of taking them to court?

Thanks on advance

I don't know what rumour you heard, but the OIC is not going to be undone by this government. Yes there is a court case and as much as I hope it goes our way, I can't say I'm hopeful. I don't think we have ever gotten a legal win when it comes to banning guns, I can't see it changing now. I think the arguments have merit, but we are relying on improper use of the Firearms Act (most probably way to win) and/or the entire thing being ruled "unreasonable" (very unlikely).

Pierre has promised a rewrite of the Firearms Act, which presumably would revoke C-21, C-71, and the OIC, but it would require a majority.

That’s the only gun I still want to complete my humble collection. I don’t want the cope WK180. I got my RPAL right when the ARs got banned in 2020 so i can empathize with all of those who got theirs this year.

And any other rumours? Pretty sure this one is bullshit.

What about a CZ Bren?

I’m kinda stubborn, AR15 or nothing. Sadly I have to go with the nothing option for now. The Bren is awesome though, so if the NR version ever gets approved I’ll consider it.

Well, I spent too much recently, so taking a break from buying guns. But "black tacticool" is gun is probably 3rf down my list. Maybe the bad will be undone by then. Honestly, I'm not interested in a restricted AR-15. Only if the become NR.

In agreement. My theory is if AR15 ever comes back, it will come back as NR. Otherwise never at all.

The Conservatives proposed "simplified classification system" would bring back long barrelled semi-automatic AR-15 as NR. And AK-47, FN FAL, etc.

It would probably take a Conservative majority government to make AR15's "legal" again. If it does happen, I'm selling my WK180C Gen2 for an AR15.

I don't see any way the liberals would backtrack their AR platform ban regardless of the fuck ups they've done.
