Mine (ON) was:

Received Apr 4

CC charged July 7

Issued Oct 13

I also spoke with the CFO and convinced them to send an email requesting mine be moved up on Oct 6 after seeing several people from Ontario receive their license before me; but applied well after. Wasn't easy to get through. Called at 7:47am to get in the call que and they picked up at 10:30am.

Ah I see, I hear lots of people call in to see the status of the license and for it to be issued sooner. Who do I call exactly in Ontario the CFO or the RCMP themselves? What do I say when I call? Obviously it’s a tad bit early for me to call since they just received my forms today however when should I call?

Wait at least until your application appears on the portal and your CC charged. For me it was 70 days/10 weeks.

Ah I see how do I use the portal? Do. I need to make an account? How does the portal know it’s me?

On RCMP Individual Web Services (IWS): You need to create a GCKey account, or use partner sign in.

Ah I see now, I was looking through the informational FAQ on the site and didn’t get answers for..

What’s the main difference between GCkey and Sign-in partner? If I make a GCKEY can I switch to a Sign-in partner later if that’s what I chose to do? What’s ultimately easier/better to use between the two? Having two sign-in methods confuses me to be honest.

Edit: thank’s for everyone’s help and answers so far I really appreciate it!

If you have both just pick the one you like. You’ll be presented the option every time just like service canada and CRA.

I don’t really sign into any Government site, I go to Service Canada/Ontario directly in person when I need to handle matters in terms of paper etc.

I never had to do something like this so I’m still stuck on which sign-in method to choose.

Then I’ll choose for you. Sign-in partner.
