Just going to add my two cents, neither is a rifle as the both shoot pistol calibre. Rifle starts at about four times the power.

Both are fine, but Ruger is a bit more reliable. FX 9 tend to be a bit picky with ammo.

the Fx9 is also a more complicated design by default so more potential points of failure

The Ruger is a simple blowback. There's only a handful of ways it can fail.

? Both are simple blowback 9mm rifles, what's more complicated on the FX-9?

Gas operated 9mm's basically don't exist, off the top of my head Sig MPX is short Stoke gas piston, and the MP5 is delayed blowback.

thanks for the reply. I'm looking to sell my mcr and replace it with a PCC

I would check out Ruger PCC 6 positions take down.

AlFlaherty has it for 1200 right now. (Heavier)

FX 9 is similar to AR style and good for add on. (Lighter), usually 1350 to 1399 price range.

I would say go to store and hold both in person.

My view is the Ruger is better, but the FX-9 looks cooler. I have seen people who have put aftermarket parts on their Ruger PCC to make them look cool, but the factory buid looks janky.
