Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions
This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.
In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

The store initiates the transfer, then you just wait. I waited about a month and then called my province’s CFO (BC) and they approved it over the phone. They emailed me and the store a copy of the transfer. I then contacted the store, sent them my copy of the transfer, and they mailed the gun out to me. Before you can take it to the range you have to wait for the registration paperwork to come in the mail, and then you are good to go.
If this is your first restricted you will also receive a new license card that will have the transport conditions attached to it. You do not need an ATT to take it to the range.
