Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Thank you. This registration paper work in the mail will be from CFO? This new license card with transport conditions attached, do I have to fill and submit to get that?

I can’t recall if the paperwork was from the CFO or CFP, but it took about 3 weeks for it to arrive in the mail.

No you won’t have to do anything for the card. It is issued automatically.

Purchase and wait, online store will typically put your transfer in via the web portal so it's the best way to get something currently. You'll then get an approval email and then typically a couple weeks later you'll get the reg paper that you need to put with your restricted.

If you're looking at getting a pistol I would be ordering it right now, literally. The transfer ban seems like it's coming this week.
