This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.
In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Meeting in person at a firearms range to try out the gun is ideal, I have bought and sold through the post too. When selling I will ask for photos of front and back of PAL and Driver's license (for shipping address)(or for my wife as evidence in my demise) and check online that the PAL is valid before I ship or meet up.
I have also met up in a Cantire parking lot. Just keep it in the box until it's in the buyer's trunk. Accept cash, shake hands, chat for fifteen minutes...
