This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.
In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Interesting, the Firearms Act and Regulations doesn't put an order required for a restricted/prohibited transfer.
It just says that the transferor (seller) must inform the registrar of the transfer.
23.2 (b) though is interesting as technically the seller hasn't checked that the buyer is authorized to acquire/possess that firearm.
Then again it's not like it's immediately obvious that a person has a Restricted license based on the number or look of the card, (besides the miniscule restricted printed on the back) and really the only way to check that they are authorized is to basically start a transfer.
