Weekly Newbies & FAQ Thread - Post your questions here for PAL/RPAL application, timelines, CFSC/CFSRC, references & requirements, or general new to firearms ownership -type questions

This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

I been waiting since April to get my pal in Ontario they charged my cc in the end of July. Anyone else same situation?

Mine was issued last week, hopefully you will get yours soon! Maybe try send CFO an email?

When did your cc get charged? And did they call your references at all? Last month I emailed them and I got this “”Thank you for your email. Your application has been forwarded to us at the Chief Firearms Office for standard review. At this time, we are not able to provide a date of completion. Please expect a 9-month delay.””

IIRC it was charged around 20th July, no none of my references are called. The email is generic but I strongly suspect they move the email ones to priority because mine is approved in the same day as they replied to my third email.
