Hey guys. So here's the thing: my girl and I are currently touring Canada and we will be attending the CFSC next weekend. Signing up for the course was already a fight (since they claimed you need a Canadian address to even participate the CFSC) and I have a hunch that the process going forward will be even more difficult.

Has anybody here experience applying for a PAL as a non-resident from outside of Canada? What problems should I be prepared for and what should I consider when applying? TIA!

PS: The letter of good conduct is not an issue. I need this all the time, and we have a standardized procedure for this.

I don’t know the hoops they had to jump through but I have a friend from India and one from UK, both non resident. Both hold RPAL/PAL now. So I know it’s possible.

International student here, you would need an original letter of good conduct in English issued directly by the police station or make a notary if its not in English, a Canadian ID (provincial driving license probably is the best), a recent photo, two referees know you five years plus(don't think they need to be Canadian though just not your direct relatives, and RCMP probably won't call them anyway), they need to sign the application form and your photo. You need to have an address because the laws regarding firearms storage and they kinda expect you to buy guns after getting PAL.

The application form after you get the course results is 5592 here so you can check it yourself
