This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Yes that's correct, phone lines open at 9am AB time. I called about 50 times before I finally got someone to answer, another user here took about 75 tries before he cracked through. The call will drop sometimes, just keep calling back and trying. It's frustrating, and took me 3 hours, but you'll get through. Good luck, justsomeguy.

Got lucky I guess, the call dropped twice after about 10 minutes on hold. Then I got through to someone after 30 minutes on hold on my 4th call (one after another). Sounds like I’m at the “photo processing” stage that I’ve seen a couple others on here at. Funny your credit card was charged before mine and my application was received sooner haha. Was yours just an RPAL application?

Glad to hear you got through! My application was for non-restricted PAL. I was also told I was at the photo processing stage - hopefully that means not too much longer!

Yes, it was charged on Sept 15
