Seems like transfer approvals have been speeding up lately, even for Ontario, according to CGN. Over 4,000 went through last Saturday. At first my august purchases were estimated to take a year and now it’s January or February. Still far less than ideal but love to see it.

I just had two transfers approved over the phone. I was on hold for about 5 minutes while she processed them and the registration certificate numbers ended up being 25 apart from each other. That would appear to mean that within a less-than-five-minute window, at least 25 transfers were processed across the country.

This was for restricted? So you can call to expedite processing?

I think it depends on the internal policies of your province’s CFO and probably the discretion of the agent you’re speaking to. They can expedite it, but they don’t have to. My advice, don’t call without a reason other than wanting it right away and be very polite. I actually started the call by apologizing for calling about my transfer knowing how busy they are.
