This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Alberta Timeline:

PAL Application Sent: June 24, 2022

PAL Application Received: June 30, 2022

CC Charged: Sept 15, 2022

Crossing fingers now... I keep trying to call the line, but I get the "We're sorry we are unable to take your call" or, the handful of times I do get manage to get through and wait on hold, it just hangs up after 8-15 minutes.

Update: I just kept calling all day today, on the ~50th try i was on hold for about 12 minutes when someone finally picked up, almost caught me off guard as I had it on speaker and wasn't expecting it lol
