ALMOST ONE YEAR WITH THE SAME STATUS! CANNOT GET ONTARIO CFO ON THE PHONE.

What should/can I do? This is for my PAL/RPAL (R probably now useless)

Application number 10-00945XXXXX-XX

Application received on 2021-10-18

Current status: We have completed the initial review of your firearms licence application. If additional information is required, you will be contacted. Please check the status again at a later date.

EDIT: ONTARIO CFO

That’s way too long. Keep calling and write to them. After this long, I think calling your MP or MLA (depending on whether your CFO is federally or provincially appointed) is warranted at this point (cc your your MP/MLA on your e-mail to the CFO). Hopefully you have a MP/MLA that isn’t anti-gun. If they aren’t helpful, you might need to lean on them a little more heavily (e.g., “Whether or not you support private firearms ownership, the processing of firearms licence applications is a government service and I am entitled under the Firearms Act to be provided this service without unreasonable delay”, or something along those lines). Even if you need to take a stronger approach like that, make sure you stay polite and reasonable… don’t give them a reason not to help you.

Most multifunction printers can do facsimile, you will need POTS or an ATA to your VoIP.

Good luck.

Two comments: you can get through to the CFO's office, you need to be more persistent. Did you answer any of the Personal History questions "Yes". These can and often do result in significant delays of up to 12+ months.

Yes I had two yesses, previous job and spouse. All info was provided, contacts etc. TBH 12 months sound a little too long to me.

I would start calling all day right at opening time. Keep trying non-stop.

That is what I will do then.

Nothing to really add that would be helpful but that actually explains a lot for my inquiry as well. I'm 10 months in and emailed her 3 months ago since she's my MP as well and all I got was the auto response email back. I too had to check off 2 boxes but different ones but I'll keep you posted if it would mean anything.
