Spend extra is relative. That apc is a sweet gun but is also 4300 bones.

Bren 2 is 1k cheaper, another gun for consideration ia the Steriling Arms R18 (about 2.8k) I hear they're good and can last 7k rounds before needing fixing (what the guy at TSE told me about their rental one)

The gen2 180 is not bad, all depends on your budget. Most of the early faults have been worked out and the current ones are not hard to fix. But yes you will have less issues with a 3k rifle. These cheaper AR clones have gone through some QC issues. I read another post where guy said 180 is like an old car. You need to be willing to tinker with it to keep it up and running nice. I consider the 180 to be more of a learning platform. Cheaper entry to purchase, lots of custom options if you want.
But for the most part just put a scope of your choice on it and keep it clean/oiled. Upgrade your wear and tear parts on timely basis (like bushings) and you should be fine.
