Really stupid question - I purchased my first restricted handgun today (located in bc) got my transfer number from the shop. What are the next steps and how long does it take? Do I need to do anything ?

Other things you can do is looks for deals and sale for your handgun needs.

Cleaning kit, trigger lock, sights or accessories, ammo, and spare magazines.

Look for good range to try out.
