I had a store tell me that they aren’t giving out transfer numbers for restricted purchases (Aug 5th). Then I emailed to confirm that one had even been issued and haven’t heard back. They’re one of the bigger stores and I received the previous handgun I ordered from them, but just felt like it was a little weird that they weren’t giving out the transfer numbers.

Anyone else have that happen?

You should be able to get a transfer request "reference number" immediately once the transfer request goes in. You don't really need it though. The CFO office can look up the transfer just from your PAL number.
