This thread will be used for the "new"-type questions, PAL/RPAL applications, references, CFSC/CFRSC requirements, storage/transport, or other general "new-to-me" firearms ownership questions.

In response to this thread, the community was quite positive for a thread to cover these subjects.

Yeah? I thought calling was frowned upon with how busy they are?

Gotta look out for #1 my friend.

People are salty because they think calling in is somehow making their transfers take longer but I doubt the phone agents are even the same people processing transfers.

I’ve called twice in the last 6 weeks. Don’t let some salty Redditors stop you.

I've been on the phone for hours. Then again, that's sounds like the norm.

I’ve contacted the alberta CFO twice in the last 6 weeks and both times I got through in less than 35 minutes
